He first followed his entrepreneurial spirit into businesses that introduced him to world travel, and then revisited his desire to join the Secret Service, where he dedicated himself to 12 years of service. Today he’s moved back into his entrepreneurial path with his companies, Leatherback Gear and HERO beverage. 

Leatherback Gear arose from Mike’s personal connection to people who survived shootings and his professional knowledge of such situations, He designed backpacks fitted with armor plates to offer students protection in the event they are caught in a shooting situation. He then expanded his work to create HERO Beverage.

HERO stands for Help Everyone Remain Operational. The company crafts specialty coffees geared to help people raise money and support their communities.
